    2. Lynn Prettyman
    3. Hello, all, My name is Lynn PRETTYMAN and I live in Baltimore, Maryland, USA and the above families are related to me thru marriage to my great-uncle, David BAIRD LINDSAY, who married Helen MARTIN MCNAIR. Helen's parents were JOHN McNAIR from Ireland, and Jane CRAWFORD HALL, d/o Archibald HALL and Helen MARTIN. Jane was christened 28 Nov 1847 in Rothesay, Bute. She died 5 Nov 1884, at Gartnod Farm, Shettleston. Her father was a spirit merchant, and her mother apparently remarried someone named McDOUGALL. David and Helen had a son, John McNAIR LINDSAY, who married Catherine WILSON McCUNN, d/o James Duncan McCUNN and Jane HALL CRAWFORD, d/o Mark CRAWFORD and Mary CHALMERS, his 2nd wife. Mark's first wife was Margaret McLAREN, who died 25 Dec 1876, at the age of 30. Her parents were John McLAREN and Margaret SIMPSON. Mark and Margaret had 4 children: Margaret SIMPSON, b June 29, 1870, Jane HALL, b 19 Mar 1873 (not my Jane), Elizabeth STEWART, b 30 Oct 1874. and James CLARK, b 1876. There is a Grace CLARK CRAWFORD, but I believe her to be my Jane's sister, as her age on the census would put her birthdate ca 1878-79. My Jane is listed as being 18 in 1898 when she married my cousins' grandfather, making her birthdate ca 1880. I have been lucky enough to find new cousins, the children of John McNAIR LINDSAY, and it seems he and Catherine were cousins, and the two Janes were the connection. Ian tells me there is a graveyard with several stones marked with CRAWFORD-HALLS and HALL-CRAWFORDS at Kirkalton (?)Bay on Bute. ( I apologize if that's not correct. Ian's writing is a little awkward to decipher sometimes) Do any of you recognize any of the names? I would love to hear from you if you do. TIA, Lynn in Baltimore, MD USA [email protected]
