She was married to Alexander McKirdy. He was born in Buteshire (Isle of Bute, I believe) c.1810-15 He moved to Canada c.1849-51, first Quebec and then Owen Sound, Ontario. Their son, John (my gr.grandfather) was born in Quebec in 1854. I believe John had an older brother named Alexander, possibly born in Scotland. I had not found any McMurchys in Buteshire, until I saw your message, I assumed Jane and Alexander met and married in Canada--now I am wondering if they were married in Buteshire...if you can shed any light on this mystery, I would appreciate it...Thanks, Carol, USA
