I have a question for the group regarding Apprenticeship records. NAS holds a number of indentures for apprenticeships such as bakers, dyers, fleshers, etc. At this point, I have been unable to locate apprenticeship records for "Blackmiths" in Scotland. In the case of my GGG Grandfather, Hugh Beith, he was a "Smith" in Rothesay, Bute. I have located his admission as a burgess in the 1791 Town Council Minutes for Rothesay, but have not located any relevant apprenticeship records for the county of Bute. I have also seen copies of a "BurgessTicket" held by another researcher, but, unfortunately no such records exist for Hugh Beith. The question I have is, what records would likely document his apprenticeship, other then indentures.
