There are a passel of Butchers in Surry County NC in 1850. Two of them are laborers by profession; the rest are all blacksmiths. My William Butcher who went to Polk Co MO is among them, he and his wife Mary and children living with Oliver Bray and Mary (Butcher) Bray. Does anyone have any information on how these folks interconnect? For example, is Mary Butcher Bray William's sister or cousin?
