My Butcher line is in the Cabell/Lincoln Co. Va(WV) and Lawrence Co. OH area's. I am looking for more information on William, William Jr., Samuel, Reuben, Thomas Jefferson, and James Butcher who can be found on the Cabell tax lists from 1817 - 1830's, such as where they were prior to coming into Cabell County. My direct line is Matthew Hamilton Butcher (1812 - 1882), Thomas Jefferson Butcher (1833-1910), Benjamin Louis Butcher (1864 - 1946),Jesse Eugene Butcher (1900- 1966), Baxter Elmo Butcher (1926 - 1999) to my sister (Carla) and I (Patty) who are both researching this line. It is my belief that one of the above in Cabell County is either the father/grandfather of Matthew. Any help appreciated. Thanks. Patty
