My Great Grandmother was Helen May Butcher, born 1865 Pass Christian, MS to Will Butcher and Mary Clayton. I have Helen May's birth certificate that lists her mother as being from MS but no birthplace Will Butcher. Helen May died in Galveston, Tx in 1944. Any of this ring a bell for you.
