My grandfather was born in England, probably in the period 1860 to 1862, emigrated to Canada about 1883, married in Hamilton Ontario in 1890 and died in Hamilton in 1920. The church marriage registry gives his parents names as Sarah Butcher and Thomas Wiffin but there is the possibility that his father was also known as John Wiffin.
