    3. Oran Butcher died of Lou Gergies disease. He was Hazel and Bessie Given Butchers son. Oran H. Butcher Oran H. Butcher, 69, of Sutton, died September 27, 2000, in the Braxton County Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was born on January 4, 1931, at Strange Creek, WV. He was a graduate of Gassaway High School and was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Morrison Ridge United Methodist Church. Mr. Butcher was a retired carpenter superintendent, working for the BOB Schmitt Homes in Stongsville, Ohio. He was also preceded in death by one brother, and one sister, Pauline Butler who had resided in Phoenix, Arizona. He is survived by his wife Shirley; one son, Greg and his wife, Dawn, Butcher of Lima, Ohio; one daughter, Sandra, and her husband, Morten Lamoey of Felixstowe, England; and three brothers, Dennis Butcher of Big Chimney, WV, Orval Butcher of Sutton, and Nolan Butcher of Akron, Ohio. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Erin and Matt Butcher. Funeral Services were held Saturday, September 30, 2000, at 11:00 a.m. at the Walnut Grove United Methodist Church, with Rev. Barney Snowdon officiating. Burial was in the Walnut Grove Cemetery, Strange Creek. Serving the Butcher Family was the Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton.
