John Boutcher Jr. had four sons: John, Samuel, Joseph, >and Benjamin. This is shown by John Jr's will which Jean >posted, dated 17 Dec 1775. >5. Montgomery Co. Orphan's Court Records 707 and >708 (which I have not yet posted) indicate that Benjamin >Boucher (John Jr's son) died in 1786, leaving a son Joseph >and a wife pregnant with a second son. The second son, >also named Benjamin, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Are you referring Benjamin Boucher who died in 1786 to the father of Benjamin Boutcher who was born on February 11, 1786 in Abington township, Philadelphia (now Mont. Co.), Pennsylvania, who was married in 1810 to Elinor Vandergrift who was born in 1771? ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, >What follows I infer from other records: >John Boucher (III) is probably the one who married Rachel >Bener in Philadelphia on 5 May 1787. There was also a >"Benajmin Butcher" who married Lydia Benner in Feb 1776, >probably John III's brother. (These records in "Pennsylvania >Marriages prior to 1810"). ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Again I believe that you are referring Lydia Benner as ~probably~ mother of Benjamin who was born in 1786??? ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, > Joseph Boucher married Rachel Walton. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Unless there are two different Josephs, a history of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, gives Elizabeth Killey for Joseph's wife. He is said to have been born on 15 September 1811, the eldest son of Benjamin Boutcher & Elinor Vandergrift. The book goes on saying that Joseph had six children: Children 1. Adeaide S.Boutcher of 2. Cordelia Boutcher Joseph 3. Edward Boutcher 4. William (or Guilelma) Boutcher 5. Natalie Boutcher 6. Benjamin W. Boutcher, b. Dec. 17, 1848, m. 1877 Catharine Cryer Joseph's siblings: 2. Ann, b. 1813, died early in life 3. Jacob, b. 1815 4. Enos, born May 30, 1817; died Dec. 15, 1888; married Elinor Vandergrift 5. Ann Eliza, b. 1819; d. 1902 6. Monroe, b. 1822 7. Washington, b. 1824 8. Robert, b. 1828 9. Elinor, b. 1830 Is this Joseph who m. Rachel Walton different from Joseph who m. Eliz Killey. A record in the same source [Bucks.Co. PA] shows that Joseph Boutcher, who m. Eliz Killey, had an uncle Jacob Vandergrift who married an Ann Walton. It sounds complicated since there were a number of Waltons, Watsons, and Vandergrifts marrying into the Boutcher family. For example, you wrote below: >There is also a marriage record for a >Samuel Boucher and Ann Walton.
