    2. In response ot the roll call, here's my "stumbling block": I am researching the COLLETT surname and I found Mary BUTCHER's will recently. According to the will (dated 3 Oct 1766), she is of East Nottingham, Chester Co PA and she lists Margaret COLLET as one of her 5 sisters and Zachary BUTCHER as her father. Additional sisters listed: Susanna PASSMORE, Rachel OLDHAM, Hannah BUTCHER, and Sarah DAY. If any of you know the first name of Margaret's husband, I would appreciate the info. We had at least three COLLETT families in the area at the time and we are trying to connect her to the correct line. If not, info (birth date, birth location, marriage date, death date, or names of children) about Margaret would be helpful. Thank you! Lydia Collett in Atlanta

    3. Hi - My elusive Butcher is any family of Jemima Butcher b. 20 Oct 1797, Virginia (or maybe WV?) Jemima's mother died when or just after Jemima was born. Jemima's uncle and aunt took her to raise. When Jemima was four, her father sent word that he had remarried and was coming to Virginia for his child. Uncle and Aunt packed up and moved to Tennessee. Jemima was married to Luke Standifer 15 Jan 1815 in Tennessee. They farmed in Marion County, Tennessee until 1830 when they moved to Arkansas. Farmed there until 1851 when Luke, Jemima and four of their children traveled to Oregon by wagon train, settling in Lane County, Oregon. Luke died there in 1857 and Jemima died in Umatilla County, Oregon 1 Feb 1879. Problem is-- was Jemima's father a Butcher or was that the name of Uncle and Aunt? If anyone has any ideas, would appreciate hearing them. Thanks for your time. Martha mglasscock@nwinfo.net

    3. Hi! Looking for info on Cordelia Savage d. 5/18/1880 and 12/2/1849 married George Washington Gibbens b. 3/5/1822, a wagon maker and farmer. They had 3 children: Mercy Jane, William Frank and Charles Edgar. Southpoint, Lawrence co, OH is mentioned. I've got lots of Gibbens info, but no other Savage info, except that my Dad has a little record book from a Ohio volunteer Civil War soldier (officer) with the Savage last name and I seem to remember something like a statue to a Savage in southern OH, from when I was a child (probably Lawrence Co). Can anyone fill in any of my widely gaping holes or refer me to any good Savage web sites? Thanks, Tory tanda@clas.net
