Helen Mae, born abt 1865 in Mississippi and William Tell Butcher, birthdate and birthplace unknown but older than Helen Mae. Does any of this sound familiar? I am told that Butcher was not the original spelling of his name. Some documents spell it Butchert and my mother remembers it being spelled Boucher. Thanks for the help, Kim

    1. [Butcher] Eleanor L. Butcher
    2. I'm looking for Eleanor L. Butcher (middle name probably Louise) born in the midwest approximately between 1930-35. Ohio or Oklahoma are strong possibilities for place of birth but other states possible. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Another question- I'm trying to figure out if the Butcher and Roosa families are related. Does anyone know of any relations? 2. I am also descended from William who lived in Loudoun County, Va. and died 1835 in Pittsylvlania Co., Va. I am descended from his son, John Coleman Butcher. Another son was Isaac born 1788 in Loudoun County, Va. He married Elizabeth Clark. Don't know where he died but his son Isaac was born 1805 in Kentucky and died August 30, 1869 in Fulton, Illinois. This Isaac was married to Polly (Mary) Hendrix daughter of Abraham Hendrix. Their children were Samuel b 1828 in Kentucky, William b 1830 in Kentucky Johnson b 1832 in Tennessee George b 1835 in Tennessee Sarah b 1836 in Indiana Louisa b 1839 in Fulton, Illinois Harrison b 1841 in Fulton Mary b 1844 in Fulton Isaac b 1848 in Fulton The only child of that branch I have any information on is Samuel Monroe b 1828 in Kentucky and died 1908. He married Sarah Catherine Hickmen and their child was William Monroe b 1854 and died 1901. William married Rebecca Townsend and their son was John William b 1878 d 1946 who married Bertha Ann Stowe. Hope this helps. I have lots more information on other branches but haven't found any generations older than William's father who was named John and died 1778 in Loudoun County. If you want more information, let me know. Nora Crauthers

    1. [Butcher] Wm Butcher of Clinton Tp, Decatur Co IN
    2. Marian Dunlap
    3. The 1850 census showed the William Butcher who was in Clinton Tp, Decatur Co IN had a son William about 14 or 15 years old. He married Deborah Jane Ray, youngest daughter of my GrGrGrandparents James and Jane Ray of Fugit Tp, Decatur Co IN. The 1860 Mortality Schedule for Decatur Co IN showed that Deborah Jane had died, and the 1860 census shows William Butcher with no wife and two small children, Samuel and Hannah Butcher. I have never found any further trace of these children and wonder if anybody has any information on them???? Another researcher tells me that the Clinton Tp William Butcher family moved to Howard Co IN but she found no mention of Samuel and Hannah there, either. Any suggestions? In the 1850 census there was another William Butcher family living in Fugit Tp, Decatur Co IN. We have found no connection between the two Butcher families, but this William Butcher also had a son William about 14 or 15 years old in 1850! Four William Butchers in that one census! Two daughters of the Fugit Tp William Butcher married two of the sons of the GrGrGrandparents James and Jane Ray of Fugit Tp. We have been able to trace the children of this Fugit Tp family.. Marian
