Author: renee_buster Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.buster/319/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hello Jack, time has certainly flown bye, since I last spoke with you and with time has also came more information about the Busters'. Well first I found out on the 1940 census, and the help of a relative on the Buster side. My grandparents were Thomas A. and Lillian Buster. He was from Arkansas and she was from Florida. My grandfather was also suppose to be of Puerto Rican descent. My grandmother was a Williams before marrying my grandfather they had 4 children in all Curtis,Thelma, Maxine and my dad Thomas Jr. My grandmother as I said was married twice, as a Williams she had three daughters all has since died. As a matter of fact all children are dead. The last one to die in 2008, Catherine Williams. I didn't get to meet her before she died. One more thing none of the family lives in Nebraska now they all live in the Oakland, San Francisco area. As far as the Buster name I still don't know where it came from but I'm researching the Puerto Rican angle. What have you been up! to lately. I know so much more now. Author: tylerjamesmccane Surnames: Buster, Malone, McFarland, Davis Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.buster/315/mb.ashx Message Board Post: My great great grandmother is Ollie Rosalee McFarland Malone. I am trying to find her parents and/or siblings. Vital's: Born: 5 Mar. 1883 (According to tombstone and obituary.) Place: Russell County, KY (according to some children's birth records) or: Wayne County, KY (according to obituary.) Married: 5 Mar. 1905 to Robert Francis Buster. Died: 3 Jul. 1971 (tombstone, obituary) Place: Mendota, La Salle, Illinois. (according to obituary.) Here is what I know: According to her obituary, her parents were John McFarland and Rachel Malone. Her obituary listed that two brothers and two sisters had preceded her in death. I POSSIBLY know that one of the sisters may have been Elizabeth McFarland (b. 1871) but have no definitive proof. I have not been able to find her on the 1900 census under the last name McFarland or Malone. Between the years 1910 and 1930 she lived in Wayne County, Kentucky. In 1940 she was living in Woodson, Morgan, Illinois. Her mother may have possibly married a second time to a man named Pet Davis. No information on him or their marriage. They may have possibly had a son named Oscar Vernon Malone, born in 1896 in Russell County, Kentucky. I am still searching for the obituary's of Elizabeth and Oscar. If you can provide additional information or may be connected to this family, please e-mail me at [email protected] or reply to this message. This has been a big brick wall in our family tree and hopefully will be solved. Thank you! -Tyler McCane. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: annageis76 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.buster/311/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am not related to this family Longmont Ledger (Boulder County) Feb 9, 1923 BUSTER-Wednesday, February 7, 1923, Silas Eddie Buster, of Hygiene, aged 54 years, 10 months and 21 days. The death of Mr. Buster was very sudden and a great shock to the family and friends. He had been in Boulder visiting his sister, Mrs. Mar??n (hard to read) Gorce, for a day or so and Wednesday evening he and his brother Sanford, started for Hygiene. He appeared to be feeling better than usual and was talking to his brother very animatedly when he stopped in the middle of a sentence and gave a little gasp. Sanford asked if he felt faint and found he had stopped breathing and was gone. Se.E. was born in Hamilton, ?? (can not read), March 16, 1868. He came to Colorado with his father, mother, brother and sisters n April 1879, and first located north of Longmont on what is known now as the Silas Robinson farm, just east of Chapman. In 1890 the family moved to a farm southeast of Longmont at Pleasant View Ridge, where they lived for a number of years. In 1900, with his wife and children, he moved to a ranch in Allenspark and stayed there six years, then in 1906 moved to Hygiene, which has been his home ever since. The youngest daughter, Edna, passed away just three months ago. Mr. Custer was a member of the I. O. O. F. and the M. W. A. Besides the wife he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Olen Williams of Longmont, and Misses Medora and Vera Buster of Hygiene. Funeral services will be held from the Hygiene Methodist church Saturday afternoon at 2:30. Find-a-grave 71449654 Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I am not Laura but I am Mary, who was married for thirty-five years to A.Buster before he passed away in 2000. I was surprised when I received a message three days ago and I believe it was from Laura Thomas who I do not know. Then today I was surprised again when I received that message from you. It had been nine years since I wrote on that message board and I almost forgot that I had done that. At one time, I was into genealogy, but just a short time and did locate a few relatives on my side of the family and then was fortunate to meet them. I have been wondering if maybe the Busters you are mentioning are not our Buster relatives since there are many Busters in many states who are not related. My husband has a cousin who has always been interested in genealogy ever since I've known her and I'm sure she would know. I have lived in central Illinois all my life and I may be going to southern Illinois in a week to visit my sister-in-laws and will show them these messages to see if any of the names are familiar.
