OBITUARIES. MRS. BUSHMAN. Drusilla Randol was born in Rutherford, in Rutherford county, North Carolina, May 3, 1830, and died at her residence in Sullivan February 18, 1909, at the age of 78 years, 9 months and 15 days. Her late illness covered a period of about fourteen months, and was of a tumerous or cancerous nature. The subject of this sketch and one brother, Robert Randol, were brought by their parents from North Carolina about 1831. They first settled in or near Old Nelson, and at one time they lived in Whitley township, on what is known as the Davy Munson farm. She came to Sullivan when it became the county seat, and spent the remainder of her life here. She was married April 26, 1849, to Nathan T. Higginbotham. To this union were born two children, John Thomas Higginbotham and Mrs. Malinda Higginbotham-Tichenor. Her husband dying in 1854, she was united in marriage to F. W. Bushman, December 9, 1856. This union was blessed by two children, Agnes, the wife of Geo. A. Reimund, both deceased, and Claudia, the younger, who remained at home with her mother in her declining years, her comfort and constant companion. F. W. Bushman, the husband and father, departed this life December 8, 1902. Besides the children in the immediate family, Mrs. Bushman had four grand children, Mrs. Dilla Burns, Mrs. Pearl Collins of Arcola, Nathan Higginbotham in California, Mrs. Homer Wright, and one great grandchild, the babe of Mr. and Mrs. N. Higginbotham. Mrs. Bushman's life was well spent, always kind, loving and quiet. She gained the friendship and esteem of her acquaintances. An exemplary wife, loving mother and good neighbor, tells part of the story of this Christian woman. The funeral was conducted at the late home at 10 a. m. Saturday by Rev. S. P. Tailor assisted by Dr. T. J. Wheat, after which the remains were laid to rest in Greenhill cemetery. The funeral services were under the auspices of the Rebekaha lodge. These range from earliest I can find: a marriage of Nathaniel Bushman to Phebe Newcomb in 1760, thru to 1928, whence is recorded in shaking script, the birth of Charles Johnson. Predominant family surnames figuring over the 8 pages of records are CONVERSE and WALBRIDGE, aparently of Massachusetts. Bible has embossed/tooled leather boards and spine. Gilt & embossed HOLY BIBLE on spine. Gilt endpapers. Engraved frontespieces, &c... Good condition. Some wear at cover edges/corners as expected. Spine has some light shallow cracks, crack/split to leather on rear spine corners top and bottom. Pages strong, no rips, tears, rot or holes detected. Odor free. Spotty foxxing on pages & margains also as expected, not too bad. Rear board is attached but has some looseness. Measures 3 x 9-1/2 x 12 inches.

(BY) Cliff Dineen" The Lany Bushman of Genessee Co., married Henry S. Phileo and she was born 1822. I believe this Lany is the dau. of John and Barbara Bushman and she was born in 1796 in PA and removed to Cayuga County with her parents around 1800. Lany's brother, David and sister, Sophia Margaret and families removed to Milledgeville, Carroll, IL about 1843/45. I will research the Joh P. Burghduff family in Elkhorn Grove, IL, however.

He was born Aug. 1854 Canada according to 1900 Census Lake, Lake Co., Michigan immigrated 1890. Wife is Olive Plouf born Jan. 31, 1853 Pointe-du-lac, Quebec, Canada. They eventually died in Ludington, Mason Co., Michigan. I am looking for any information on this family. In particular about their daughter and parents. They have a daughter Rose or Rose Marie. She was born Aug. 1887 in Rhode Island. Still haven't been able to find Rose's birth record. We are told that these are her adoptive parents and that she was a Bushman. Also according to the 1900 Census, she is 12 yrs. old. Rose was married to an unknown Lussier and they had a daughter Armelia Rosalie born abt. 1907 in Massachusetts. Rose is back in Mason Co., Michigan in 1910 listed as Rose Lucier, single. Daughter Armelia is with Alarie & Olive Bushman then. In 1911 Rose was married to Charles W. Peterson in Ludington, she died in 1921 and Armelia was sent "out east" to live with family. Looking for Armelia's family too. any help would be great. thanks, beth
