Fanny was born in Rotherhithe c 1796. She married Thomas BUSHELL some time c1810-20. They lived in Bengeo, Hertfordshire and their children included George (bc1820), Susan (bc1822) and Jemima (bc1829). Thomas must have died early as Fanny remarried Edward GRIMES in 1832, again in Bengeo. I am particularly interested in Fanny's maiden name, and any information at all on Thomas. I have been unable to trace their details of their marriage at this stage. Many thanks

I can assure yiu that the Bushell family came from Ennistymon, & had several branches there. Most of them emigrated by 1870, although there was one Matthew or Matthias who stayed longer. We do still have a contact there, Maureen Metcalfe who lives in Deerpark Upper so we rely on her for confirmation of our records. I was over there in !996 so I know the areas that you mentioned. Thanks again for your interest, Incidentally I have an affadavit signrd by my G Grandfather, re the birth of my grandfather & he stipulates Ennistymon & the doctor as Dr Stewart, who is mentioned in Griffith's Valuations, along with Patrick Bushell.

If you go into wwwClarelibrary.ie and seek out Griffiths Valuation of properties in 1855 you will find'Bushell' in Tullygarvin ,Lahinch which is near here and in Kilfenora also near here. When people emigrated in the 1800's they often gave the nearest market town such as Ennistymon as it could be in your case. This may be of help to you. Regards. michael comber

Most of these families were from my branch of the Bushell family but I received one letter about a Paul Bushell from Warwickshire & was given quite a bit of info. about him. Trouble is that although the chap who sent the info realised that it wasn't my family but thought his story was interesting, which it was. Paul was a convict, who came out to Aust. on the 2nd fleet & eventually made good. I can't find the letter & have lost the name of the bloke who sent ot. Sorry Tom Bushell
