I am looking for information about the Bushell line that emigrated from the UK to Canada and then to the USA. My ancestor Stephen Bushell, was listed in a Census as born around 1806 or 1808 in Canada, and that both of his parents were Canadian. Do you know if there was a wave of immigration in the late 1700's because if he was born in 1806 in Canada, his parents must have emmigrated in the 1700's. Am searching through records to try and find his birth record in Canada to find out his parents names to continue the search. Any information would be helpful. Have read that Bushells come from Kent? My ancestors were from Dover in the late 18th century and then almost exclusively from Ramsgate until the late 19th century, when the direct line moved to Preston (Faversham. There seem to have been two distinct lines of Bushells - one based around Ramsgate and the other around Wicambreux. Has anyone else noticed this distinction?
