    3. I have a Jane BUSH (of French extraction) and a Dr. Asa HERRING (of German extraction) who married and lived in Lewistown, Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. (No vitals) They had five children - four daughters and one son. Known daughters are: Sarah B. D. HERRING [b. 1 Feb 1822 - d. 13 Jan 1897], and Margaret Jane HERRING [b. 18 Oct 1826 in Mechanicsburgh, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania d. 30 April 1918 In Newcomerstown, Tuscarawas County, Ohio]. In 1930 Sarah B. D. HERRING and Margaret Jane HERRING moved with their parents, Jane BUSH and Dr. Asa HERRING, to Dauphin County, Pennsylvania and from there to Stroudsburg, Monroe County, Pennsylvania. (I have found BUSHs in Monroe County, PA.) They next moved to Lewistown, Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. 16 Mar 1839 Sarah B. D. HERRING m Anthony FELIX (b. 1813 Derry Twp., Dauphin County, PA, d. 13 Dec 1902). 12 May 1846 Margaret Jane HERRING married (in Lewistown, Mifflin County, PA) William McFADDEN. He was of Scots-Irish extraction [born 8 Mar 1821 in Lewistown, Mifflin County, Pennsylvania - d. 5 Mar 1877 in Newcomerstown, Ohio]. He was the son of Hugh McFADDEN and Sarah McEWEN [Scots-Irish extraction]. Do you have a common connection? I have no data on their ancestors, except for the McEWENs. I have descendant data for all. If this sounds familiar, please contact me through this forum. Thank you for your time and all help forthcoming. Gretchen

    3. Hello Sorry I do not know much of my back ground. Although this much I know. My father's side of the family indeed came up through the states and yes maybe pennsylvania. They came to Canada in the 1700's ? as Empire Loyalist, and indeed still have a sward used in the battle of 1812.? Sorry... My maiden name is Ellis. Hope this helps. Good luck Eileen ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gretchen K.
