Barbara Faye Burk Busch, 77, Apache Junction, formerly of Muscatine, died Friday, June 18, 2004, at Kavanagh House, Hospice of Central Iowa, Des Moines. Memorial services are at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home, 2907 Mulberry Ave. The Rev. Paul Ostrem will officiate. Burial will be at Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church. She was born on Oct. 17, 1926, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Everett G. and Gladys Faye Stobaugh Burk. She married Harry Busch on April 28, 1950, in Aledo, Ill. He preceded her in death in 1985. She retired from HON Industries in 1987 after 19 years of employment. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed life as a Snowbird for 17 years. Survivors include two daughters, Fayonne L. Tooman and husband, Marvin, of West Des Moines and Jacqueline Rector and husband, John, of Keokuk; a son, Harry C. 'Buddy' Busch, Jr. and wife, Patti, of Warsaw, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Matthew Tooman, Marci Hamrock and husband, Aaron, Aaron Tooman and wife, Renee, Dusty Cornelius and husband, Ben, Anna Guerrero and husband, Mauro, Megan Busch and Zac Busch; and six great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Robert Burk and wife, Carolyn, of Cedar Rapids and LeRoy Burk of Muscatine. She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Gayle Rada; and a brother, Everett Burk. No relation ============== MUSCATINE William H. Busch, 73, of Muscatine, died Monday, April 10, 2000, at Unity Hospital. Services will be at the St. Mathias Catholic Church, 215 W. Eighth St. The Rev. Bernard Weir will officiate. Vocalist will be Mark Carroll and organist will be Lori Carroll. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren. Honorary Bearers will be Ernie and Margaret Ziegenhorn, Leo and Ruth Herlein, Bob and Charlene Lewig, Cecil and Darlene Houseman, and Ed and Donna Hogan. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home with a Rosary Prayer service at 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the St. Mathias Catholic Church, Unity Hospital or the donor's choice of charities. She was born on Dec. 16, 1926, in Muscatine, the son of Bartus and Esther Hintermeister Busch. He married Gertrude Carroll on Sept. 22, 1951, in Muscatine. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in peacetime Korea. He was a gas foreman for 33 years with Iowa Electric Light and Power Company. After he retired from the Gas Company he worked for the Muscatine Community School System in the Food Distribution. He was a member of St. Mathias Catholic Church and the Moose Lodge No. 388. He also enjoyed playing cards. Survivors include his wife, Gertrude Busch of Muscatine; three sons, Dennis Busch, Kenneth Busch and his wife, Bette, and John Busch, all of Muscatine; three daughters, Carol Fox and her husband, Steve, of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., Jean Erickson and her husband, Don, of Newton, and Mary Call and her husband, Robert, of Muscatine; a daughter-in-law, Kim Busch of Letts; 10 grandchildren, Michelle Busch, Holly Pelton, Travis, Tracy and Ryan Fox, Jennifer and Daniel Erickson, Matt Busch, and Jerry and Emily Call; one great-grandson, Devin Pelton; one brother, Richard Busch and his wife, Ruth, of Muscatine; and one sister, Lorraine Barber and her husband, Al, of Red Bluff, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents. No relation ============== MUSCATINE, Iowa Kenneth L. Busch, 47, of Muscatine, died Monday, February 28, 2005, at his home. Memorial Service will be at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. The Reverend John P. Gallagher of the Ss. Mary and Mathais Parish will officiate. Inurnment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. He was born on August 22, 1957, in Muscatine, the son of William H. and Gertrude Carroll Busch. He married Bette Goodwin and they later divorced. He was a graduate of Muscatine High School and enjoyed hunting, the outdoors and especially loved his Labrador Retriever dogs. He had worked for Louis Rich from 1981 to the present. Survivors include his son, Matt Busch and friend, Elizabeth Emmons of Muscatine; his mother, Gertrude Busch of Muscatine; two brothers, John Busch and Dennis Busch and wife, Susan, all of Muscatine; three sisters, Mary Call and husband, Robert of Muscatine, Jean Erickson and husband, Don, of Newton, and Carol Fox and husband, Steve, of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; nine nieces and nephews, Michelle Lee and husband, Todd, of Polk City, Holly Pelton and husband, Chris, of Muscatine, Tracy Nelson and husband, Jeff, of Pensacola, Florida, Travis Fox and wife, Corey, of Georgia, Ryan Fox of Mississippi, Jennifer Erickson and friend, Erik Kolstad, of Des Moines, Daniel Erickson of Ames, Jerry Call of Davenport, Emily Call and friend, Jason Thompson of Muscatine; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father in 2000. No relation ============== DAVENPORT, Iowa Fred D. Busch, 58, Davenport, died Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at his home, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Burial will be at the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal, with military services conducted by the Vietnam Veterans of America, Quad City Chapter 299. Memorials may be made to the Genesis Hospice House or University of Iowa Children's Cancer Research. He was born Sept. 17, 1947, in Muscatine, the son of, Margaret Ranberger Busch. He married Nancy Schlichting on May 20, 1978, in Davenport. He proudly served this country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He attended St. Ambrose College and was proud of completing his certification in H.A.V.C. at Scott Community College. He was employed at the Rock Island Arsenal as a recoil specialist, but always fondly remembered his first job with the railroad. He was totally devoted and dedicated to his wife and children and got his greatest joy out of watching their lives unfold. He was known for his perpetual building projects and would have fished every day if he could have. His dream for retirement was to travel the world in RV. His pets included his faithful companions, Sierra and Kobe, and his foot warmer 'Fatcat'. Survivors include his wife of nearly 28 years; a daughter, Natalie Busch of Ames; four sons, Austin and Chadwick Busch, both of Davenport, Bret and Brad Busch, both of Muscatine; a sister, Maggie Yocum and husband Babe of Muscatine; two very special sisters-in-law, Rose Simmons of Davenport and Ali Schlichting of San Diego, Calif.; as well as numerous other loving relatives.
