Thank you for the info Mary I have been trying for years to find the town/area in Southwestern Germany fro where my ggggrandfather, Leonhard Busch b. unknown and his wife Anna Maria Ollinger b. Unknown but died in Boglar, Hungary. This town is just west of Budapest abt. 20-25 miles. I say your Jakob was born in and about the same time or close to it as my guy. If you ever come across a Leonhard Busch or Pusch please let me know. Thanks Mary John Busch Asunnydays@aol.com wrote: Hello John, My ggg-grandfather, Jacob Busch was born in Germany and immigrated to Austria with his family. They settled in Landestreu, Galacia, Austria. That very well could have been part of the same area of Austria/Hungary at that time. I've looked at old Galacian maps several times and Dolina, Austria where my gggrandfather Phillip Busch was born is close to that area of Hungary. Many of the German families there immigrated around that general area. Sometimes the best information is the bits and pieces of verbal genealogy that are passed down from our grandparents. My Aunt Dorothy told us of how her grandmother was married off to the " the preacher's son" so she would not marry a "highway man". I have been corresponding with a man in B C (Bill Busch) who did an enormous amount of checking and gave me the information that I gave to Mary and many others. He did the research thinking it was his family and still thinks we are connected somewhere. He wrote a book and I have a copy and it is titled "The Leonhart Busch Family" If you send me the information that you have I will check it out. He said the reason the people moved around so much was that there was no room for them in the small villages so the eldest son got the house and the rest of the sons usually moved elsewhere. Hello Eileen Thank you for your message. If this Bill Busch is who I think it is he may be a relative of mine. After WWI many of the Austria/Hungarian Busch's left their native land and immigrated into Canada. Most settled in Regina, Sask. but others went to Winnipeg and British Columbia. I am even now corresponding with too of my cousins who live in B.C.I belive there was a Bill Busch whose father-my uncle-name was Anton(Tony)Busch and another Bill who was the son of Tony's brother-Michael's son. Anyway, I do have many relatives in Canada. My Leonhard Busch was born in (?) about 1733, but died in Boglar(Vertesboglar) 31.Aug.1784. His wife was Anna Maria Ollinger, born (?) abt. 1740 and died 19.Aug. 1811 in Zichydorf, Banat, Aust/Hung. They were married 14. Jan. 1860 in Schemling, Banat, Aust/Hung. This town is next to Boglar. Both towns are just west of Budapest. They had many children and I will give you just my direct names of those children. 1. Sebastian Busch---born 9.Sept.1764 in Boglar, married Theresia Dominik(born 15.Nov.1789) in Boglar and died 13 Apr.1851 in Zichydorf. 2. Sebastian Busch II was born 6.Jul 1797 in Boglar and died in Zichydorf, Banat. He married a Barbara Rosalia Froh 11 Jul 1819 daughter of Johann Froh and Eva Busch. His second marriage was to Elisabeth Niedermayer(30 Jan.1800 in Zichydorf) They were married 23 Nov. 1824 in Zichydorf. Elisabeth's parents were Christoph Niedermayer and Margaretha Hoff. Jozsef Busch-Son of Sebastian II.born 26.Aug.1829 in Zichydorf. Married Rosalia Zoph daughter of Philip Zoph and Rosalia Fritz. She was born 25 Mar,1829 in Zichydorf, Banat. Johann Busch(my grandfather) was born in Zichydorf 4.Dec. 1855. He married Katharina Heinermann born 4 Jul 1862 Zichydorf and died 18.oct.1935 in Regina, Sask. Canada It was Johann Busch's family that immigrated into Canada and this decendants spread all over Canada except my father who came to Chicago. Hope this gives you some direction to take. However, if this Leonhard does not match exactly, I would like his data. Thanks very much. John Busch Palatine, Il. PS. If it does match, I can increase your's and Bills Tree by several thousand surnames.
