Hello Mary When your ancestors left Germany and entered Austria, did they also immigrate into the Banat of Austria/Hungary? I am looking for the birthplace of my ggggfather who entered Austria and eventually moved to just west of Budapest. He was born abt. 1733 as was his wife Anna Maria Ollinger. This is quite a large family starting with Jacob Busch and his sons Andreas, Johann and many more. Your grandfather could in this family too as some were born in Germany. The best place to start is on the LDS website Family Ancestors. If you know your grandfather's birthdate or approximate year you can look at all the names that apply. you will get several hundred so just look at international and the year he was born. Sometimes you find their date of birth.
