    3. Jacob Busch and his wife left Germany approximately 1750 and stayed in Landestreu in the Austro-Hungary Empire until the 1890's when the whole family moved to Winnipeg. They were going to move to California but someone at Ellis Island told them the climate in Manitoba was more like what they were used to, ha, ha, ha. No doubt someone wanting to populate Manitoba. I have the history of most of the Busch line from Landestreu which was a small town and they way the bred, most of the children had to move to other towns in Austria in order to establish themselves. I must have over a hundred names in the genealogy chart from Jacob Busch in 1750 until they moved to Manitoba. I think all these charts were done by a man named Bill Busch from Vancouver, B.C. but I lost his email address when I had my computer updated. He was the same age as my sister who just turned 90 last month. If you could give me any names before Rudolf I could search my records and if anything shows up I would get in touch with you. I wish I had more information from my father who was 65 when I was born in 1935, and yes that does make me 71. Bill Bush wrote a history of his family and he was sure that we were connected, but like my father his did not tell him much either. Both of my parents spoke German (a different type from Germany) but would not let us learn the language because of the war and things were pretty hard on anyone who spoke German. My father was in the Kaiser's army when they left Austria and had another year to go but decided to leave with the family when they left. My father was not a big man and he hid in a steamer trunk when he left without permission. I have seen your name on Ancestry for many years and if there is a connection I would be glad to copy what I have and send it to you. I have little doubt that you and I have the same g g g g grandfather. Sincerely, Eileen (Busch) Smith My half brother's son lives in Saskatchewan as did many from our clan but the others are not from my immediate family but they are descended from Jacob.
