Greetings, I am in search of information about the family of Francis (Francois?) J. BUSCH, my great, great grandfather. He was born on February 10, 1821, possibly in the Alsace Lorraine region. He served as a Sgt. in Company G, 16th Massachusetts Infantry during the American Civil War and died on October 3, 1898. He is buried in Milton Mills, NH along with three of his eight known children. Francis (Frank) can be found on the U.S. Census of 1870 & 1880 living in Milton, New Hampshire. He can also be found on the U.S. Census of 1860 in Lowell, MA with a first name of ‘Joseph’ and his last name spelled as “Bush”. Francis (Joseph) and Rose (Rosanna) Farrel (b. Ireland) were married in St. Mary’s Church, Lowell, MA by the Rev. J. T. McDermott on April 11, 1853. On the record of their marriage, Francis’ parents are listed as Joseph & Ann Mary Busch; Rose’s parents are listed as James & Mary Farrel. The children of Francis & Rose were Francis Jr., (b. 1854); Ahart (b. 1855); Mary A. (b.1857); James T. (1859-1932); John A. (b. 1859, my great grandfather); Bridget (1861-1866); Charles W. (1868-1884); & Frederic (b.1870). The children were born in Lowell, Massachusetts or in Milton, New Hampshire. I would to find descendants of the other children of Francis and Rosanna and I would especially like to find Francis' origins in Europe.
