Henry George came from Hesse ca 1780, we think, and married to a Bodensick ca 1798. Baltimore city directories list him as letter carrier and tavern owner, 1807-1833, when the family moved to Dubuque, IA, and they were Lutherans. Perhaps Augustine was a cousin? Mike Could you also copy it to me please? A brief summary of what I know of my family, which may relate perhaps to Don's or Trudi's info. My GGF came on the SS Gutenberg to Keppel Bay on 24.3.71 and settled in Rockhampton. He was Carl Friedrich Ludwig Busch born probably 1838. Came from Neukloster (about 100k from Hamburg). Wife was Wilhelmina Hacker. His children: Friedrich Karl Joachim Heinrich (my GF) b.1866, Wilhelm C.J. b.1864 and Louise b.1867. Another child was born on board ship, but died after a few months. We know that Friedrich Karl stayed in Rocky. He died in Rocky in 1927 and brother Wilhelm CJ was still living in Rocky then. Louise married (by elopement) and died aged 66 in 1931. We can find no records of the death of GGF or Wilhelm CJ. Did they move? My father did tell me as a child that we had some relatives in WA.
