She was born in Austria in 1890. Her family went to Canada and settled in Manitoba. They may be distantly related as there are thousands of Busch relatives. My gggrandfather was Jacob Busch and he was originally from Germany. He had several sons. They were born in Galacia, Austria. His son Phillip was the father of Michael Busch, the father of my grandmother Dorothy Rose Busch. I know the Busch family had many cousins in Canada and also in the US. It is quite a large family. Well best of luck in your search. Mary

But on Dorothea Busch's death certificate it lists her father's name as being ANTON BUSCH. Does anyone know when and where this Anton Busch was born? And what the name of his wife was? I estimate that he was born between 1845 and 1854. His daughter, Dorothea, was born in 1872 in Crimea. And his daughter, Elizabeth, was born in 1874... Both daughters lived in Portland, Oregon and also died there...

    1. Re: [BUSCH] Re: John (Johann) Busch 1857-1888, son of Christian
    2. Hello I see I'm finally getting some Busch's researched from Austria/Hungary. Are any of your Busch's from Hungary or the Banat? My Busch's immigrated from SW Germany(Schwaben) abt. 1690-1710. Registered in Vienna,Aus. and procured land and etc. from the government. My two earliest Busch's were Jakob Busch-born abt. 1713 and Leonhard Busch- 1733-1737. I, of course have many Johann and Jakob surnames in my Tree. My grandfather, Johann Busch was born in the Banat in 1855, His mother was Rosalia Zopf Busch. His father was Jozsef Busch. If any of your Busch , surnames are from or attached to the Banat in what was then Austria/Hungary, give me a mail. We definitely have a connection. I do have a problem connecting the surnames from the 1850-1900 period. Before that time, I have now problem. Thanks John Busch Palatine, Il.

But there were so many Busch relatives it's hard to say for sure. Jacob's oldest son was Andreas b 1788. His grandson Jacob Wilhelm b 1808 had a very large family (2 wives and 18 children) and many of them immigrated to the US. Thousands have descended from Jacob Wilhelm. Our family descended from Jacob's son, Johann Phillip another branch. Then his son Michael, then my grandmother, Rose Busch. She was born in Austria and immigrated to Canada in 1900. She later married and her family came to the US in 1923. It is very interesting tracing this family. Mary
