    3. Hello Eileen Thank you for your message. If this Bill Busch is who I think it is he may be a relative of mine. After WWI many of the Austria/Hungarian Busch's left their native land and immigrated into Canada. Most settled in Regina, Sask. but others went to Winnipeg and British Columbia. I am even now corresponding with too of my cousins who live in B.C.I belive there was a Bill Busch whose father-my uncle-name was Anton(Tony)Busch and another Bill who was the son of Tony's brother-Michael's son. Anyway, I do have many relatives in Canada. My Leonhard Busch was born in (?) about 1733, but died in Boglar(Vertesboglar) 31.Aug.1784. His wife was Anna Maria Ollinger, born (?) abt. 1740 and died 19.Aug. 1811 in Zichydorf, Banat, Aust/Hung. They were married 14. Jan. 1860 in Schemling, Banat, Aust/Hung. This town is next to Boglar. Both towns are just west of Budapest. They had many children and I will give you just my direct names of those children. 1. Sebastian Busch---born 9.Sept.1764 in Boglar, married Theresia Dominik(born 15.Nov.1789) in Boglar and died 13 Apr.1851 in Zichydorf. 2. Sebastian Busch II was born 6.Jul 1797 in Boglar and died in Zichydorf, Banat. He married a Barbara Rosalia Froh 11 Jul 1819 daughter of Johann Froh and Eva Busch. His second marriage was to Elisabeth Niedermayer(30 Jan.1800 in Zichydorf) They were married 23 Nov. 1824 in Zichydorf. Elisabeth's parents were Christoph Niedermayer and Margaretha Hoff. Jozsef Busch-Son of Sebastian II.born 26.Aug.1829 in Zichydorf. Married Rosalia Zoph daughter of Philip Zoph and Rosalia Fritz. She was born 25 Mar,1829 in Zichydorf, Banat. Johann Busch(my grandfather) was born in Zichydorf 4.Dec. 1855. He married Katharina Heinermann born 4 Jul 1862 Zichydorf and died 18.oct.1935 in Regina, Sask. Canada It was Johann Busch's family that immigrated into Canada and this decendants spread all over Canada except my father who came to Chicago. Hope this gives you some direction to take. However, if this Leonhard does not match exactly, I would like his data. Thanks very much. John Busch Palatine, Il. PS. If it does match, I can increase your's and Bills Tree by several thousand surnames. Eileen Smith <eileens18@cogeco.ca> wrote: I have been corresponding with a man in B C (Bill Busch) who did an enormous amount of checking and gave me the information that I gave to Mary and many others. He did the research thinking it was his family and still thinks we are connected somewhere. He wrote a book and I have a copy and it is titled "The Leonhart Busch Family" If you send me the information that you have I will check it out. He said the reason the people moved around so much was that there was no room for them in the small villages so the eldest son got the house and the rest of the sons usually moved elsewhere. 2. Hi Eileen, I read your reply to John. I was wondering if it is possible to get a copy of the book by Bill Busch, "Leonhart Busch". I know that our family are related through Michael Busch. Bill Busch mentioned the children of Phillip Busch in his writings and he wondered what ever happened to those children after the death of their parents in 1848. Well, they were raised by an uncle (name unknown) and they grew up to have families of their own. My Aunt Dorothy told me the story of Michael being raised in Galicia, Austria by an uncle after his parents died in 1848 when he was only 3 years old. So there is the link. Best wishes, Mary

I looked up the spelling Bush because many of Busch family went by that name. I found Phillip and Barbara Bush in Winnepeg with son Rudolph born May 16, 1895. Many of the Busch families in that area of Manitoba may be related. Probably 3rd and 4th cousins and descendants of Jacob Busch and his sons in Austria. Best wishes, Mary

    1. BUSCH / STEGGLES
    2. Hi to all listers I am new to this list. Most of the surname lines I am researching were mainly from Suffolk, Middlesex, Cambridge, Buckingham, Sussex and other locations but mainly in England. Some of the surname lines left England. Some of the KNIGHTS line left England and went to Australia, which I am currently in contact with descendants. Another line I am researching is the STEGGLES line (my surname). I have found two female STEGGLES who were born in England and moved to Austrailia. They are: Sylvia Victoria STEGGLES and her sister Beryle Elaine Sybil STEGGLES. Sylvia was born in 1921 and Beryle was born in 1927. I have aquired the death certificates of both, and the informant to both deaths was a V. BUSCH. This Miss BUSCH is listed as being the Daughter of Sylvia, and the Niece of Beryle..... If there is any lister who may have a connection, I would love to hear from you, as this new name is a great find... Many thanks in anticipation.. Gary Steggles. England.

In Germany in 1718, with the birth of Johann Busch, the first Busch to be llisted in this family History. His birth at Borzen in Mecklenburg in 1718. His marriage in 1751 to Catherina Brandt, and his death in 1772. Johann spent his whole life at Borzen. Johann and Catherina had three Children. Their only son Johann Heinrich, was born at Borzen in 1753. At the age of 45 he married Elisabeth Kadow aged 17 at Biendorf, Mecklenburg in 1799, and when their son was born the next year he was working at Klein Pravtshagen. Fifteen years later he was working at Wotenitz, a village to the south of Grevesmuhlen. It was Hans Heinrich Conrad (hereinafter Hans Heinrich) the only child of Johann and Elisabeth, who in 1844 at the of 44, migrated to New Zealand. Born at Klein Pravtshagen in 1800, he was baptised in the Lutheran Church at Klutz and confirmed at Grevesmuhlen in 1815. He was a labourer and taken the trade of mason and bricklayer. At the age of 30 he was married at the Lutheran c! hurch in Klutz to Sophia Christina Dorothea Grebin. With in the three years of marriage they had their first two children in Arpshagen, a village a few Kilometres east of Klutz. They then moved to Reppenhagen, which was really only part of a large estate, where he worked as both a bricklayer and a labourer. Five more children were born to Hans Heinrich and Dorothea here and it was also while at Reppenhagen that their eldest son and second daughter died of tuberculosis, probably a result of very inadequate living conditions.
