    3. Hello Cathy Have you joined the Busby list, there are so many of us trying to find answers about our Busby ancestors. Barbara has Tenneesee Busbys. Barbara have you seen this record of a Reevs Busby in the 2nd Regiment of Mounted Tenn Volunteers? I had never seen proof that Reese Busby of SC had been in the War of 1812. We have all been working on the possibility that Reese Busby son of Benjamin, who died in 1815 was a different person than William Reese Busby, possibly William Reese's father. Your information on the possibility of of Reese being in the War of 1812 is very interesting, because Nimrod Jackson, a son-in-law of William Reese Busby was also in the War of 1812. We might see if he were in either of the Regiments listed in your email. It may be the Reevs Busby living in Tenn is the War of 1812 soldier. Barbara Grizzle also has heard that there is Indian Blood and we are not discounting that but can't find the source either. DNA testing that is available now called a DNA print test, can't pick up minority ancestry prior to 1800 with any reliability. I was considering taking that test but the Indian component of my DNA would probably have come in the mid 1750's, so wouldn't show up. We on the Busby list are hoping that we will be able to find a record which would indicate a maternal link to the Indians. Of the Y DNA tests some of the Busby men have taken, there was no Indian DNA so it must be from a maternal line. I am descended from Reese Busby 1830 Census Bibb County Georgia and he died in Bibb County c 1845. It would be great to see if the other SC Reese Busbys went to Tenn or if that Reevs migrated from North Carolina. Come and join us The Busby website also has some good information.
