Hi Sandra! I hate to be new to this group and start off by disagreeing with an "expert." However, I have a xerox copy of the 1820 census I mentioned. I have looked at it over and over and over again. Nimrod is in the 26 to 45 age range. The 45 and upward range is completely blank. Reading right through it looks like this: 1 male to age 10, blank (male, age range 10-16), blank (male, age range 16-18), blank (male, age range 16-26), 1 male age range 26-46, blank (male, age range 45 & up), 2 females to age 10, blank (female, age range 10-16), blank (female, age range 16-26), 1 female age range 26-45, blank (female, age range 45 & up), blank (foreigners not naturalized), 1 person engaged in agriculture, everything else blank (i.e. no slaves). According to Joyce's birthday (Oct. 22, 1795) , Nimrod would have been around 25 in 1820. That is close to what is listed (26-45). I am sure all know that the census is seldom accurate in giving correct ages for people. I am still convinced that the 1820 census lists Nimrod Jackson, and other members of his family. Kathy
Kathy weather we are new or old to genealgoy we all make mistakes or overlook something and I think Joyce would be the first ot agree with this. Have you wrote to her directly?? or do you want me to forward this to her. Sandra ----- Original Message ----- From: "Clyde P. Kathy & Sandra, I would have to say none of us are experts on this list, except for Barbara Peddicord and we are all ready to learn. So please feel free to share. I was looking through a copy I have of pg 65 of the 1810 Lexington District Census and there are so many lines from the old microfilm, not to mention my copy seems a bit faded, so I have complete sympathy with trying to read from the Census pages and decipher the marks. It can be the luck of the draw who gets a clear copy to read, let alone a clear print. This page of the 1810 Lexington Census has Hampton Busby and possibly William or Needham Busby. At least there are several letters that are unready in the first name and it ends in "am". Does anyone go back to these Busbys? Sandra and I are descendants of Charity Busby Scofield and Lillian Busby Johnson. Joyce is a descendant of Nimrod and Elizabeth Busby, Wayne and Roger are descendants of Allen. Kathy, you are descended from Easter and Wheaton Jones. I think we have a descendant from every branch of Reese's children, except Inman. Does anyone know of any descendants of Inman Busbee and Penelope? So to me this is exciting, that we have so many descendants from the one family. Now we have to tie into the South Carolina Busby families that match closely with us Howard goes back to Zachariah Busby b 1768, and shares Y DNA with the descendants of Benjamin Busby d 1815, SC. Vohn can trace back to Seaborn Busby born circa 1815 and shares the Y DNA as the above descendants of Benjamin. Then there are all the others on the list that connect to Busbys in Houston- Bibb-Crawford Counties, Georgia. Kathy Kendricks and her Seaborn, Barbara connects to Reese - who else connects to these Busbys? Time for a roll call to introduce ourselves to Kathy and each other- Let's change the subject line please Gaila snip I have been introduced seperately to Kathy and can give evidence to how well she researches, so let me welcome you to the Busby list. Joyce is not on the list right now, but she also spends time looking for facts, documents and information. I have looked at it over and over and over again. Nimrod is in the 26 to 45 age range.
