    3. The Nathan Busby that was prominent in Houston County, Ga c 1820's was the son of Jeremiah and grandson of Thomas born about 1745 and died in Newberry District, South Carolina - so he may have been a cousin to Reese but this Nathan was not a descendant of Benjamin, Sr. [Charles, did I get this information from you?] Allen, Reese's son, was often with Nathan Busby in Houston County, witnessing deeds etc. Nathan bought quite a bit of land but later lost a great deal of his wealth and he moved further west in search of greener pastures. This Jeremiah, followed his brother Nimrod Busby to Georgia about 1808 and settled in Twiggs County, later travelled with his son Nathan to Houston County, GA. When Nathan's fortunes turned sour, they moved west and Jeremiah went to his son Jacob in Ouachita County, Arkansas just north of where Nathan settled in Louisiana. Nathan settled briefly in Union Parish Louisiana but moved further west to Guadalupe Texas by 1851 and he died there in 1855. [So this is a different person than Nathan Busby, son of Jacob Busby. see Busbys of Falls County Texas on the Busby page] Gaila ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, January 17, 2004 1:30 PM Subject: Re: [Busbee Busby] Jeremiah Busby b 1795, SC son of Zachariah > Gaila, > The Nathan who was a son of Jeremiah, was born in 1817, according to census > of 1850 in MS, so I am wondering if that Nathan you mentioned was another > Nathan.
