I am still looking for James William b 1810 GA. While I bask in the glory of being an expert I have to admit I have, am and will make a lot of mistakes. The phrase coined, "To err is to be human". hehehe!!! Gosh, I am getting really profound in my old age. Hope everyone had a good holiday and a safe New Years. Barbie
I'm searching for the parents of Drusilla BUSBY who married David Allen SHIRLEY. I have searched extensively through all the sources I can access from home, and I can't find her. I thought she might have had a different maiden name, then married a Busby, but it seems more likely that she was a Busby since she named children Zachariah and Hamilton and maybe had a child named Phebe ("Feebe"). The sources on David Allen SHIRLEY are confusing, especially because he seems to have had so many children. If I believed all that people have put online, David would have 17 children and 4 stepchildren. Sorry my info is not perfect here David Allen Shirley b. May 22, 1810 d. June 10, 1892 Father: Richard Shirley? John Shirley? Mother: Birth: SC Death: 1892 DeRidder, Beauregard Par., LA Spouse 1: Drusilla BUSBY (b. ? d. 1856 near Columbia, Caldwell Parish LA) Children: 1. Joseph SHIRLEY ? ) I think that Burrell "Allen" Shirley, who is supposed to be David Allen Shirley's brother, married Nancy Busby, dau. of Jeremiah and Phebe Busby of Wayne Co. MS. One person says that's right, another says it's wrong. At the very least, Burrell "Allen" Shirley and Nancy lived near Jeremiah and Phebe Busby in Wayne Co. Jeremiah and Phebe had an Elizabeth Shirley in their household at one point (1860 or 70). These are not the David and Burrell Shirley or Mahalia Eason tried in SC for murder, theft, or having bastard children--these are their cousins. Any help appreciated! I can return the favor by doing lookups in the census (1790, 1810, 1820, 1850, 1860, 1870, 1910, 1920). I can also access some books in a database that you might not have checked yet. Tracy Kirk
