His first wife is shown as unknown. The 1900 census for Mississippi County Missouri has James H with wife Lu. This would possibly be short for Louisa. In 1880 Louisa Dowdy was shown as Luiza. The 1900 census family lists Oscar, Irene, Dorris, and Earl. Luisa's age at 34 agrees with her age as shown in 1870 and 1880 census for Jeremiah Dowdy and family. Regarding James Busby's death, there may not be a record. Many Mississippi County, Missouri records were lost as I recall in a courthouse fire. This is especially for the person who is searching for information on a James H. Busby & married a Dowd 1888. and for anyone else that is interested. I have a James Busby born abt. 1858 in Robertson Co, TX to Nathan Walker Busby & Sarah Ann Owen who were married 1853 in Robertson co . I have lost James as his mother remarried a Hudspeth and a few years later she & Hudspeth were killed in a wagon accident. James younger brother Sylvester b. 1860 was raised by a neighbor farmer and I have located his family. However I do not know what happened to James, who raised him?
