The Eighty-First Hanging Fort Smith, Arkansas, April 27 - Shepard Busby was hanged in the United States Jail her today for the murder of Deputy Marshal Barney Donnelly in the Indian Territory last year. He talked for a half hour on the scaffold making out a case of self-defense. The old hangman, Maledon, who has hanged his four score men from the same beam, did not execute Busby on account of an old friendship between them. Busby is the eighty-first man hanged from this gallows since executions first began here of Federal prisoners convicted of capital crimes.
