Joyce, Kathy, Drew In my files I have a Harry Clark Busby b 26 Jun 1876 Indianpolis IN d 26 Mar 1953 Los Angeles CA md/1 Clara A Gilmore md/2 Alice H. Marcellus md/3 Martha M. Harris. Known Children: Harry Gilmore b 1900 CA, Haywood b 1918 CO, Vernon A. b 1922 CO, and Clara Elizabeth b 1924 CA Harry Clark is suppose to be the son of William VanBuren Busby b 1835 Gloucester Co VA. and Louisa Clarke b 1848 MS. There is some debate on William middle name being VanBuren or Vernon. There is also a question of race. William V. died in Texas but was buried in Los Angeles CA. On the cemtery records he is listed a Black. Harry Clark as family oral history goes had disowned his father and never spoke of him. The researcher who passed this own stated that because his father was mixed is the reason he disowned him as he was passing for white. Now how true this is remains to be proven or disproven. You guys might want to contact Steven at Busby777.aol.com. It's been over a year since I have heard from him. Hope this helps Barbie At 03:03 PM 6/22/99 -0400, you wrote: >Joyce, >if your grandfather died after 1920, and you know the state where he died, >you might want to order a copy of his death certificate.
