This is a follow-up to the post I made below: As it turns out I was missing the dwelling information on the second listing - the family in question was not visiting but had simply moved (but again, was counted twice on the same census). Go figure - some folks don't find their ancestors on the census - but I find mine twice and moving next to his sons! - Karen I just wanted to forewarn anyone that might be researching the Busby family in Shelby Co, AL about the 1850 Census. On this census I found one of my Busby ancestors listed twice - I couldn't understand why - the names were the basically the same, dates were just a tad off but they were listed with a whole other group of Busbys! It finally dawned on me to check the dates the census was notated and lo and behold one of them was taken on 25 December 1850! That explained it! They were visiting family on Christmas Day! I am really surprised that the census taker (same person noted) took them down twice! Karen
