While searching through records in the Scotland Co.,NC library for my McLAURIN family line, I found the following info quite by accident: John Busby married Roseanne McCall 8/9/1807 in St. Charles Parish, Missouri. It states he came from Upper NC. They had a son William Solomon Busby b. 1809 in Missouri. He married Harriet Purdum Brown. John Busby died in 1815 killed by Osage Indians. William went to Texas in 1830 to help defeat Mexico. He had a daughter Harriet Elizabeth Busby. "John Busby was a friend and neighbor of Daniel Boone and moved with him to Missouri". It was noted that all of this information was submitted by a Jeanette Tabb (no address given). Hope this helps someone. Dottie
