Cindy, thanks for your reply. I am thinking about going back to the library at Florala and spend some more hours looking at their files. It is so strange to not find a connection. I have not found anything on Vernon under any of the different spellings and Alabama did not have records until 1906. I have not put adds in the paper but this will be my next plan. What info I find on any Busby, I will bring it home and post it. I keep praying there will be something, someone that will prove my grandfather existed. I have a picture and Mother's few memories of him but nothing of his family. She remembers the tatoos on his arms and one star tattoo on the back of one hand. He was in the army at young age and was discharged for fighting, this is what he told my mother. It is like he fell off the face of the earth. Nothing before or after 1924-1936.
