This is an excerpt from an email sent to me by one of my cousins. They (James and Liza Jane) lived near Louisville when David and a couple of other children were born. Did you know the family had lived in Owen Co. IN (and had several children) before they moved back to KY? Evidently, our Busby's couldn't make up their minds whether they wanted to live in KY or IN! Here's what I have from the 1850 Owen Co. IN census: James Busby 38 b: abt 1811 farmer KY Eliza 32 b: " 1817 KY 1. Hector 11 b: " 1839 KY 2. Valentine 9 b: " 1841 IN (male--called "Volley") 3. John F. 3 b: " 1847 IN 4. Henry Charles 1 b: " 1849 IN d: 11 Aug 1911-IN They must have moved back to KY shortly after 1850. I haven't located them in KY, because I can't find an 1860 census for Jefferson Co. KY (Louisville). I'm not even positive that's where they lived, but Aunt Velma's daughters found this info somewhere. Here's the Busby children that are listed as born in KY: 5. Susan Elizabeth b: 31 Mar 1853 KY d: abt 1932-IN 6. Amy? (not certain) b: abt 1856 KY 7. Julia (unknown birthdate--died young) KY 8. Gabriella b: abt 1859 KY (called "Aunt Gabe") 9. David Taylor b: 3 Aug 1861 KY d: 23 Dec 1951-IN 10. Anne (or Anna) E. b: abt 1862 KY James and Eliza supposedly had 12 children, and I'm not sure that one was named Amy. I'm fairly sure of the rest, although I don't know Julia's birth or death date. If this information sounds familiar to anyone please let me know.
