    1. Milton Busby Family in Tx in 1855

    3. I have a copy of the 1855 Freestone County, Tx census. It is laid out a little differently than the ones taken every 10 years as it just lists the name of the "Parents or Guardian", the names of children in the home, and the number of males and females in the home. Both parents are not listed, just one and in most cases it is the husband/father who is listed. Listed in District No. 3 is a Milton Busby with the following children: Elizabeth Busby, Melissa Busby, and David Busby. Can anyone identify this family? I am trying to find a Rebecca Busby who married William W. Groover sometime between 1852 and 1855. She supposedly was his 2nd wife. I believe that sometime after this marriage, William married a 3rd time to my unidentified gg gmother Banks, her 2nd marriage. I'm hoping a Busby researcher might have some kind of information about this marriage that will help me identify her and my gg gfather Banks. On this census, listed just below Milton Busby, is William W. Groover with the following children shown: John Groover, Margaret Banks, and Sarah Groover. I believe this Margaret Banks to be the daughter of my gg gmother Banks. Looks like the Groover family and the Busby family might have been neighbors. This leads me to believe that at some point, William really was married to Rebecca Busby and then to my gg gmother Banks. If anyone knows anything about these families, please contact me.
