    1. Re: Nimrod - Stephen Buzbee?
    2. Judy, I am certaint that the people you are talking about is my Buzbee family. But, we do have some differences between your notes and mine. Stephen Buzbee of S.C. was my gg grandfather. He was married to Margret Ann Elizabeth Baltzegar. Stephen was born April 28, 1817 in S.C. He married Margret in 1840. They had 11 children. They moved from S.C. to Saline Co., Ark. (which eventually became Grant Co.) Stephen died October 17, 1890. Stephen and Margret are buried at McPherson Cemetery in Saline Co., Ark. All of this I can verify because I have documentation. I have information, but not positive proof, of the following. This info was taken from a person who turned out to be my cousin. It is from handwritten notes which she had obtained from her family members, so none of this is verified by any documentation. Stephen Buzbee and Nimrod were brothers. There were 4 brothers, Bennett, Asa, Nimrod and Stephen. As per the notes: The Buzbee and Rambo families came from England and settled in Orangeburg District, S.C. A son of the Buzbee family married a daughter of the Rambo family. They had 4 sons, all born in Orangeburg. (I also believe there were 3 sisters, Margaret, Clarissa, and Levitha.) Bennet married and moved to Florida and died at 86 years. Asa went to Alabama, married in Bibb Co., died at 91 years. Nimrod lived in North Mississippi with his family, died several years before the Civil War. Stephen married, had 5 children, moved to Arkansas, had 6 more children. I believe that info about Asa is somewhat off. It stated he lived to be 91, however I have found a cemetery record stating he was born 5-24-1806 and died 9-22-1886, which would make him about 80 at time of death. The next information was taken from a book called "The Baltzegar Family from 1696 to 1900" by Herrell F. Miller. Mr. Miller was a fellow genealogy researcher who wrote this book about 20 years ago. I have just received this book recently and have not had a chance to try to verify anything on my own. It states the following: In 1840, Margret Baltzegar married Stephen Buzbee, a son of Benjamin Buzbee and Rachel Rambo. Stephen and Margret left S.C. in 1850 and went to Saline Co., Ark., where he was granted land by the government due to his service in the Seminole Indian War in Florida. The piece goes on to gives names and various info about their children. After looking at your Buzbee info, I am convinced that we are talking about the same people, and as you stated, I am also convinced that the Rachel listed with Nimrod Buzbee in 1850, must be his mother. (which would also be Stephen's mother). I have other notes that also state that Benjamin Buzbee and Rachael Rambo were the parents of Margaret, Levitha, Bennet, Asa, Nimrod, Clarissa and Stephen. Also Benjamin was supposedly a surveyor in S.C. Here again, this is not verified. You said something about Civil War records for Stephen Buzbee. If this is my Stephen Buzbee, he would have been about 44 years old. If this is the same Stephen, he would have probably enlisted in the state of Arkansas. Does that correspond to the records that you have? I was hoping to work on this more after school starts back. It's hard for me to get to the archives while the kids are home. Let me know what you think. If you wish, I could send you copies of the notes and records which I do have. I could probably get them scanned in sometime tomorrow, but will wait to hear from you first. I'm hoping that we could connect on this and perhaps share information. Kay H.
