I've hit a brick wall and have no Busby's left to talk to. Here's what I know: My husband's father: Lonnie L. Busby- 1914-2005. Believed to be born in Independence County, AR and also died there. His father was Allie M. Busby, born July 13, 1885 in Independence County. He died Jan. 25, 1962 in Newport, Jackson County, AR. He was married to Mary Elizabeth Shipp, born 1888 in Arkansas, died Oct 26, 1948 in Jackson County, AR. They are buried at the Coffeyville Cemetery in Jackson County, AR. I have been told by my husband's aunt, the last daughter-in-law of Allie M. Busby, that his father was Franklin Busby, born about 1856 in Alabama. His mother was Susan Hart Busby, born 1857 in South Carolina. I believe they both died between 1887, when their daughter Evalena was born and 1900. I have Allie and Evalina on a 1900 census living with another family. We are told that it is because Franklin and Susan Busby died. This is as far as I have been able to get. I cannot find anything else on the family. If anyone has any information on the family, please let me know. I am very appreciative of any help I can get.
