I too am trying to prove the connection of my Samuel Busbey the son of John Busbey and Margaret Patterson. It is possible that Mathew and Samuel are brothers but I have only the descendants of Samuel. Possible he could have been from NC or SC but have never found anything to really indicate this. Can't find any Busby family anywhere willing to claim him. Seems there were several Matthew Busbys in KY and all of these Matthew Busby families claim he is not part of their family. Family lore says that his parents were John Busby and Margaret Patterson of Hampshire Co VA but it can't be proven and I have nothing that can be documented back to them. Without this proof, researchers for the John Busby family disagree that he was a son. Sure hope someone can provide a clue about Matthew. AND, I would also love to make contact with anyone connected to the other families listed above.
