Don't beat yourself up about it. Those of us who have been around a long time, are always leery of any files that end in .exe. My rule of thumb is: If I am not absolutely sure of the sender, I don't open it or forward it on. There are some crafty people who get their kicks by causing others problems. The one that I got was attached to an email subject header that I had sent a couple of weeks back. It appeared harmless. I just deleted it without opening it.
