They migrated to MS, circa. 1830, where Jeremiah died ca. 1850. My records, so far unproven, indicate that Jeremiah settled in Twiggs Co., GA. His son, Nathan, was too young to have been the Nathan of record in Twiggs and Houston Counties, GA.

    3. It's interesting to find towns with Busby name. I've been told that there is a grain elevator, probably an old community in Whitman County, Washington, named Busby, too. I'm fairly certain it was named for one of my family, probably Greenberry (Haywood Solomon Sherwood) Busby. Yes, he had all those names! and not one child to pass them on to. Linda

Gaila, You wrote: "Are there any Busbys on the list that are descended from Thomas-Jeremiah-Nathan Busby we discussed earlier, who is in contact with a Busby male from this branch -someone who might lend us dna? What about the Nathan of Falls County Texas line?" I am descended from the Nathan Busby of Falls County, Texas. This Nathan was the son of Jacob and grandson of Jeremiah both can be found in the Ouachita County Arkansas 1850 census. Falls County History Book shows Nathan married to Margaret Drusher.   Everything I have found on him shows that he first married Margaret Queen, in Arkansas and migrated to Texas.  They had two sons, Benjamin Franklin (Bird) and George Washington.  She died shortly after the birth of GW.  Nathan then married Margaret Brazier they had several children, the youngest two twins.  This Margaret died of consumption in 1870 or 1871.  Nathan then married Rubicka Jane Gray, they had one son Robert Almarine (Almore) Busby, my great grandfather.  He married Ellen Elijah Ann Rayford.  Their children were:   1.  Olga Buna Busby born Oct. 1892 died May 1982, married John Waldon Porch .        A.  Minnie May Porch, b. 1908, d. 1979, m. Norrice Franklin Wilson              i.  Billie Sue Wilson, b. 1929, d. 1982, m. Peggy Troublefield                   Clay            iii.  Birda Jo Wilson, b. 1935 m. (1)William Joseph McGill, Jr., (2) Daniel            Clarence Pelton.                 a.  Elizabeth Jane Pelton                  i.  Daniel Patrick and Lindsey Elizabeth Cantelme                 b.  Mary Anne Pelton                   i.  Jessica Lynne and Melissa Marie Smoker                 c.  William Joseph Pelton                       i.  William Joseph, Jr., Karianne May and Ashley Rose Pelton                 d.  Shannon Lynne Pelton                       i.  Marissa Jo, Tracie May and Kristen Lynne Smith. All of the above children were adopted by Daniel Pelton after the death of their natural father.                   2.  William Elijah Busby (no male children)   3.  Aubrey Rayford Busby (no children)   4.  Clarence Almarine Busby (died a toddler) Who was Thomas Busby?  Is he the great grandfather of my Nathan? To further complicate things, my Jeremiah also had a son named Nathan who had a son named Nathan.  The first is the Nathan you mentioned earlier as having settled in Twiggs and Houston County, Georgia.  Do you have any further information on this branch of Busbys?  Appreciate all your hard work trying to unravel this elusive and travelling bunch of ancestors. There is documentation that Miles served in the militia between 1781-1784. Looking at the range of ages of Benjamin Sr's. children, remember that he purportedly lived to be 116. If you have any info you can relay to me, I would be very grateful. To answer your question about Phebe Miles--I am not even certain that Miles was her last name--I admit that I have not even tried to trace her parents. I keep promising myself to do that when I retire. That time seems imminent, so hopefully I will have an answer to this and a scantillion of other questions in the near future. Howard

As part of their efforts to cut down on Spam, I the customer must visit my Bulk mail folder and mark each and every mail as, "This is not Spam." and it will be allowed straight into my mail box next time around. If anyone else is on BTYahoo, they may find this of interest. Thanks again for the IP and AOL information. 3. George, If you set up Outlook Express or other email program as your default email and check your email there, you don't have to mess with the Yahoo! webbased email program. You would have to run an additional spam blocker like for example Cloud Mark's that works very well with Outlook Express. I have SBC Yahoo! and only use the web based from a remote location when I am traveling.
