My grandmother knew a woman named Kay Abercrombie who worked with her in Baytown, Texas, probably Babe's Place, in the 1940's. My uncle was left with Kay's family while she and my g/mother worked to keep the kids away from the bar life. My g/mother was b/1910 so I'm guessing Kay was born around the same time. Kay was married to a Paul [don't know if he's the Abercrombie or not, possibly a later marriage] There are pictures of Kay with a pregnant Martha; martha later appears in pictures with an infant named Billy Ray Busby There's a picture of Billy Ray Busby at age 15 1/2 at Chgo Vocational School [i'm guessing that means Chicago?] I also have a picture of Billy Ray with I guess his bride at my g/mother's house in Houston, Texas in the 1950's. Be cause John Wesley BUSBY has chosen to be so stubborn in his hiding ways, I have made it a personal challenge to find out everything there is to know about him. So far, this is what I have: He was born 11 Jun 1847 possibly in Georgia, Died 03 Sep 1910 in Morgan County, Alabama. His wife was Georgia Ann JACKSON (b. 14 Feb 1849 d. 29 Jan 1929). The child of direct lineage to me is Mary Etta BUSBY born c. 1881 married George Coggins JOHNSON in Alabama. I would love any and all information on Mr. John Wesley BUSBY such as Parents, Siblings, even cousins or neighbors. I have found on certain website that he was supposedly on the Lamar County Alabama Census in 1880. Unfortunately, the closest I found to John Wesley BUSBY, was J.W. BUGBY, not that I doubt completely that could be him. He is just not listed in any OTHER Lamar county censuses. Thanks in advanced for any help anyone may have in this mission!!!! I have been working on this family for a friend of mine who is descended from child Lillie Busby who married Oscar Lee Pierce. Thanks for the dates for Georgia Ann Jackson and John Wesley Busby. I too had found the John W. Busby and wife Georgia in the Lamar Co., Alabama census. I didn't put what census but I believe it has to be the 1880 census because my notes have John W. Busby age 33 b. GA both parents born GA and Georgia Busby age 30 b. AL both parents born SC. Thanks for the info. I too work on the Busby family genealogy but my Busby family was in Walker Co., Alabama.
