It has been said that the first Miles' father may have been a Phillip Busbee/Busby born in 1779 in the Orangeburg District, SC who married Nancy ? born 1781 in Orangeburg SC. But I've not had the evidence to prove this yet. I do have extensive information on siblings and other lines associated with this Busby branch. I have a discrepancy with Miles and Prudence Smith Busby's children. If there is anyone else researching this line, I would love to clear that up as well. Thanks, Shannon Busby http://members.xoom.com/genmommy

I agree that since your Henrietta spent some time in KY she may have been the one my Henrietta was named for! I have been told that Henrietta's father. Lee, was orphaned as a child and that he and his siblings were raised by a neighboring family , but I have just begun researching them and really don't have much. I need to spend more time at the library, but just can't seem to find enough time! Thanks for your help, and I'll let you know if I come up with anything on your Henrietta. I saw some record of your g grandmother (I believe census record) a long time ago. I too am looking for a Henrietta Busby. Supposedly, mine was born in TN around 1812. She married in Madison Co TN in 1830 to Allen Bethune. Robert Busby signed her marriage bond. Allen died in the late 1850's. Sometime around the beginning of the Civil War, Henrietta took her young children and moved to Fulton Co. KY. They stayed there just a couple of yrs. By 1870 they were in Scott Co. MO. They moved west very slowly and arrived in OK in the early 1900's where Henrietta died in 1904. I have always wondered if your Henrietta might have been named after mine or if they might both have been named after the same person. Henrietta wasn't all that popular a name!:>) What do you think? I had heard at one point that there was a Robert Busby living in KY who was about the right age to be her father. Do you know anything about him? Henrietta's first two sons were named after her husband's family, but after that her other sons were named: Josiah, Levi, Henry, Newton, and Robert R. these are not names from the Bethune side of the family.Do any of these names appear in your Busby family? Thanks for your time!
