To all the Busby's/Busbee's etc.: Hello. My name is Michael Busby. I am an author and I reside in Plano, Texas. While I cannot attend the Busby/Busbee etc. reunion this July in the fair state of Alabama, I do wish to offer to all attendees, and any other Busby's/Busbee's who wish to contribute, the opportunity to scan all their Busby/Busbee photos into the .jpg digital format. Everyone who contributes photos, which will be returned promptly and in the same condition as received, will receive a complete set of photo disks, with an attached document stating who is in each photo (where the information is supplied). If you have no photos to contribute, you may still receive the disks (when the project is finished) for the price of the disks and the cost of mailing. I undertook a similar project for the maternal side of my family some time ago and now have several thousand photos on disk. I hope the Busby/Busbee effort will be as successful. Please pass this information on to the reunion attendess. Even if they have no computer, they can still go to Wal-mart and other stores and view/print the .jpg files as photos. Dorothy, You made my day. Your Steven Busby is my gg-grandfather. I have a Rev. Steven Busby (although I didn't know the faith), born abt. 1817 in S. Carolina. I didn't know parents names until now. He married Margret, born abt. 1822 in S. Carolina. They were in Grant Co. Arkansas by 1852. I have the 1870 Census for Steven and family. By that time, I know they had at least 9 children: Levi, Rachael, Louisa, Vanda/y, Mary Clara, Frankie (M), Nancy, Francis, Margret. I am a descendent of Mary Clara Busby, younger sister of Rachael. Mary Clara married John Henry Hobby. They had 9 children of their own. One of their sons, Gilbert Calvin Hobby was my grandfather. My grandfather and my grandmother, Bessie, is also buried at McPherson Cemetery in Saline. I have been there a few times, but I never knew that Steven Busby was buried there. I would love to hear from you and share what info I have. I don't have much on Steven's ancestors but I have quite a list on the descendents of Mary Clara. Hay Dottie, I know that's right. I also thought Busby was going to be a name that wouldn't be that hard to track. I was certainly wrong about that.
