I have plenty of Busbys in the neighbouring county of Oxfordshire - back to Nicholas Busby (Gent) born about 1630, some in my line and others apparently unrelated - it's quite a common Oxfordshire surname. Also I live in fairly easy reach of the Northamptonshire County Record Office, if you have a parish & approximate dates I could have a look on my next visit. All the best Dave Rossiter

    3. Hello Julius, Before you do anything on the ruse that Michael tried to put on us you had best read for your self what Michael had his rather stupid say about. What Michael said is not true at all. Go and read for your self. Go to: http://www.rootsweb.com/rootsweb/history.html#leverich and search for the word *cracker*. You will find this word in the 17th paragraph. Michael got excited while reading the 16th paragraph. There is nothing in either paragraph or anywhere else for that matter such as Michael thinks he read. Its simply not there - anywhere. Rootsweb.com is our (all genealogist) best friend and Dr. Brian Leverich is a highly educated man that has never done anything such as Michael says he read. We need to support rootsweb.com and what Michael has done will hurt our best genealogy friend without cause. Michael duped you but you don't had to stay duped. Look for your self. Good Luck.. ...... My family would definitely be considered southern Busbys, therefore if possible, I would really appreciate it if the owner of this book would look up the names in bold print below. I've just started researching the Busby name and know very little about going about it to be quite honest. My father took me on a cemetery tour which has been the most helpful by far. Also, if anyone could please educate me on maybe the first 5 steps I should take in locating information. I do know about familysearch.com and have had good fortune with my mother's side of the family but not much with the Busby side. I find all sorts of Busbys but haven't a clue as to a possible connection. I understand that sometime around 1900, James Busby, Jr. moved to Texas. Any information would be helpful. Respectfully, Jill Alexander This is the part of the Busby family I am researching. Most of the people listed here were born in Georgia.
