Frank: I have found early Busby families in Shelby, Sumter, Washington and Madison counties, Alabama. There were even a few a little later in the Franklin/Colbert/Lawrence County, AL area. All of these would have been in the very early 1800's. Dottie
This is a diffrent Zachariah Busby in Jasper co. Miss on the 1850 census. Census list his age as 53 born in SC which means he would be born in 1797. This Zachariah Busby moved from Lincoln co. Ten. He is on the 1830 Lincoln co. Ten.census living next to a David Busby who moved to Marchall co. Ala 1850 census which sais he is born in 1799 in SC. And Zachariah is also living next to a Phillip Busby on the 1830 Lincoln co . Ten census. They are probably all brothers from SC.
I Believe tat would be "Seaboard Railroad" Michael Lee Busby/AL

I have recently discovered info on some of my Busby line that worked on the Seaborn Railroad in TN. Is that RR in any way connected to Seaborn Busby?
I have some Busby's currently living in Long island
Do you have any information on your Busby born in 1829? male/female? My ggrandfather, Miles E.Busbee (also sometimes spelled Busby) was born in 1829 in Granitesville, SC ( Aiken Co). Maybe some connection and maybe not. MAGICFIREF@aol.com wrote: > More than 50 decendents of Harrison Busby all met on 8/7/99 in Cedar > Town, GA > for a Family reunion. While none of the names seem familiar to me, I wonder where this family was from and if any of them were ever in KY? I note taht Elisha Busby Sr. has a child that is unnamed. My ggggrandfather Isaac Busby was from KY I have not been able to trace him back further. For many years there has been a story that there was native american blood somewhere in the family. As all other branches do not have any, I have concluded if this is true, it would be the Busby line. My grandmother (still alive at 100) and some of her siblings, along with pictures of her mother, have strong native american facial features. The pictures of her as a young adult especially. The time line is right. Isaac was born about 1790-1796. He lived in Bath Co. KY and married Lucy England. If this sounds familiar to anyone, I would be so greatful for information. Any information on this unknown branch as to where they lived, immigrated to etc. would be appreciated. Thanks, N. Hagen I have also been told be a researcher that most likely the ancestors would have had Biblical names due to his name Anyone have thoughts on this? Thanks in advance MAGICFIREF@aol.com wrote: > More than 50 decendents of Harrison Busby all met on 8/7/99 in Cedar Town, GA > for a Family reunion. Michael - Thanks for your info on Needham and his children, I'll try to digest and compare with what I have...will let you know in a few days what it looks like. Bill Busby
Hi good to here from you. I have been researching a lot on Lexington co. SC and I don't think that Micajah Busby was the son of Needham. I follow Needham on the 1790 -1840 Lexington co. SC census and Needham has 3 sons that are all living next to him on the census. Hampton born 1775 Lexington co. SC Dempsey born 1780 Lexington co. SC Nathaniel born 1792 Lexington co. SC Also Micajahs wife Nancy is still alive in 1850 Henderson co. Ten. census and she sais she is born in 1770 in NC. When Micajahs brother Robert is born in 1769 in NC and I think Micajah is probably older then Robert because he is probably not younger than his wife Nancy who is born in 1770 so I think Micajah is born in 1767 in NC. Needham is born in Johnston co. NC in 1752 so I don't think that he is Micajahs dad I think he is his brother. On the 1790 and 1800 Lexington co. SC census this set of Busby are all living next to each other. And I see Nathaniel Busby living by all of them and I think he is there father since Nathaniel moved to Lexington co. SC in the 1770s from Johnston co. NC This is what I have figuered out: Nathaniel Busby born abt 1730 ? died 1801 Lexington co. SC 1801 wife Charity born ? died abt. 1809 Lexington co. SC sons: Needham born 1752 Johnston co. NC died 7-24-1840 Lexington co. SC wife Mary Ellisor born ? died ? Nathan born abt 1754 Johnston co. NC died ? wife and kids unknown John born abt 1756 Johnston co. NC died ? wife and kids unknown Sherad born abt 1760 Johnston co NC died 1829 Giles co. Ten. wife Mary Jacobs born ? died 1827 Giles co. Ten. Micajah born 1767 Johnston co. NC died 1840-1850 Henderson co. Ten. wife Nancy born 1770 NC died ? Robert born 1769 Johnston co. NC died 1850-1860 Stewart co. Ten. wife Francis born 1775 Ten. died ? I think Sherad, Robert and Micajah all move to Teneessee at the same time and lived on land in diffrent counties that are fairly close to each other.
I found a Phillip Busby Sr & Phillip Busby Jr in the 1830 SC Census Index for Orangeburg Dist. Has anyone ever heard of a Phillip JR? I assume Phillip Sr is the one who married Nancy LNU.

More than 50 decendents of Harrison Busby all met on 8/7/99 in Cedar Town, GA for a Family reunion. It was fun and exciting to meet some relatives that we never knew existed. Some new old pictures were brought to be shared including an old "tin type" of who it is belived to be the wife of Harrison Busby that is belived to be a Cherokee indian. I will be sending some photos along soon. A tree was given to me and it has not been verified but I was wondering if any of these Bubsy's listed look familiar to any of you. Jeff - I've been trying to sort out the late 1700's to mid 1800's info on my line. It appears that we have a common ancestor in Micajah, Sr. John Wesley Busby, my ggrandfather, of Iuka/Tishomingo county MS, was the son of Robert and Sarah Adeline Caroline Turner. Robert was born in Dickson Co., TN, 1819 and was the son of Sion and Jane Nolen Busby. I believe Sion was born 1801 in Fairfield Co., S.C. Sion was son of Micajah Busby, Sr. Micajah was son of Needham Busby. Needham was born Johnson Co., N.C. in 1754. He is Rev. War veteran, Pension # 59114. My information is mainly through family I've "bumped into" on the net. William Johnson and Eddie Carson of Iuka, MS are in our line and have given me most of my information to-date. I've been having trouble tracking the movements of Micajah Sr., Sion and Robert from N.C., S.C., TN and MS. I don't know Sion's middle initial or exact places of residence; I am told he is listed in the 1850 Tunica Census. Let me know if you concur that our lines are the same one and if you can help me with my questions. Thanks for your help! Bill Busby Frankfort, IL (815) 469-8770
