    3. Melanye, Actually that is true for a lot of the original newcomers. I believe that the Busby's were a more adventurous bunch and most did quite well at their chosen craft. Moving west gave them more opportunities. Otherwise tracing their "roots" would be very simple. Also, as in my family, the Busby sir name will die with my uncle who did not have any children and therefore does not have anyone to pass the name on to. I think that ,that is an added incentive to find out exactly where we began, (after Adam and Eve, of course:) Well I'm done rambling. 2. Yes Diana, I have an uncle Elton Busby (Busbice) and a Elton Hollace Busbice (name changed from Busby) in my family. I have always wondered where that name came from. If you find out, please let me know. I descended from Reese, Allen, Oliver Allen. and Oates O. Busby. Allen was born in SC, moved to Houston Co., then to Pulaski Co., GA. Oliver Allen moved to LA where Elton grew up and fathered Elton Hollace. Wayne Busbice

Please email me if you do! > > Thanks! > > Tammy Peters > Tammy, My name is Wanda Mobley. B.F. Busby was a half brother to my great grandfather. I have loads of information on the family. B.F.'s father Nathan was married at least three times. He had 10 children by the three wives. B.F. was the oldest of the children. His mothers name was Margaret Queen born in 1830 supposely in Ga. They married in Arkansa (I belive) She and Nathan had one other son, James Monroe born in 1852. It is beleived that Margaret died soon after the birth of J.M. Nathan returned to Grimes Co. where he met and married Margaret Brazier in 1851. They had seven children. When this Margaret died in early 1870 it is persumed that Rebicka Jane Gray was hired as a housekeeper to help Nathan with the children. His youngest, twins, Bradford and Bradly were only two years old. Nathan and Rebicka Jane were married on January 29,1871 in Falls County, Texas. My great grandfather, Robert Almorne, was born to them on November 2, 1871. Nathan then died on February 22,1872. Rebicka Jane left the home and returned to her family. Therefore My G.grandfather knew very little about his family. I was just barely aquinated with either Bradford or Bradly. I will go to my records and check on the list of children I have for B.F. and compare it to yours. I have a fairly complete history and data on the family back to Ga. Francis or Frank is a common name in my line and my father's name was Charles Elton Busby b. 1933 in Tulare County, CA. We have been unable to determine where the middle name was derived from. 1. MRS. WILLIAM PRICE (BUSBY) born in Bolling Green, Ky in 1847

    3. On the Busbee-Busby Family Homepage, there is an interview type article that appears to tell the story of a lady from the Marlin, Tx area, named Mrs. William Price (Busby) who tells a story about her life in Kentucky. If I remember correctly, she was born abt. 1847 in Bolling Green, Ky and had at least two brothers, a John Busby and Milton Busby. I also think her father might have been Matthew Busby, my ggg gfather and that Matilda Busby might have been a sister. She states that Milton was killed in the Civil War in Ga. She also tells about moving to Tx, I assume as a child, and settling in the Cotton Gin Community in Freestone County, Tx. A Milton Busby moved to Cotton Gin, Freestone Co, Tx with my gg gmother and her daughter, Margaret Banks sometime after 1850. A Milton Busby from Freestone County enlisted in the 10th Texas Infantry in 1861 and died in Jonesboro, Ga. I think he is my Milton Busby. I posted a query a few days ago about this Milton Busby whom I believe to be my ggg gfather. I believe his daughter, Mitilda Busby was my gg gmother, born in Adair County, Ky about 1820. I also believe that Adair County was cut out of Green Co., Ky. I really need help with this family. Does anyone know who the descendants of this Price-Busby lady might be and if they might be Busby researchers subscribed to this list? I know they could help me prove or disprove that Matthew Busby was my ggg gfather and/or if the Milton Busbys mentioned above are one and the same. Please contact if you can help.
