Charles Doll, In regard to your posting of records of Busbys in Richland Co.; The Jesse Busby whose will was probated in 1810 in Richland Co. is my ancestor. I was wondering if you or anyone else knows who his father and mother are. I would very much like to know if there is anyone researching his ancestors. His daughter Demaris is who I am descended from. She married Dr. Presley Woodall in ALabama. Madison and Marshall Co. would be where their records are located. Lallie
Robert Busby (B.1769 NC D.1850 Stewart Co.,TN) left a will naming his wife a Fanny and 12 children, plus one ward--probably a grand daughter. They are: Rachel, Tempy, David, Lucinda, Eliza, Matilda, Mahala, Catherine, Wade, Robert (Jr), Nancy and Arminter. The ward is Jane, assumed Busby. I have marriages for half of the children and for Jane. I am willing to share my data. I believe that this Robert is the man who was in 1st Reg. of Mounted Gunmen (Dyer's) Tennessee Volunteers, and also served in 2nd Reg. of West Tennessee Militia (Col.Lowrey, Lieut. Col. Hammons). Anyone who has info otherwise please let me know. Some researchers believe Robert to be connected with Needham and Nathaniel BUSBY of NC. Much research to be done finding Robert's parents and siblings. Joyce
Beckie nodwar@worldnet.att.net, could not get message to you at you E-mail address,so hoping you get it this way. I noticed when I went to your family pages that you have Edmondsons and Busby both in your family. I am trying to find my great grandmother Josephine Busby. She may have been a Nancy Josephine Busby. I know she married Samuel Edmondson. I would guess around the years 1885-1887? My grandma Mary was born 1888. I just can't find a starting point for my Busby line. Your family at least has both names in, so I decided to get in touch with you. My grandmother was born in Lauderdale Ala.,but she talked about TN.and Ark.as well. Do you have any record of a Busby-EDmondson marriage at all? I am new at this and could sure use a starting point. Thanks Sonjia
Done. Please check it out and see if I have data correct. It is on the Researcher's page. There still many Buzbees in that > area also in Florida in Walton County and Escambia co. > You Frederick died in Walton co.] I have searched and sent out mail. No one has heard of Vernon Edward Busby or Busbee who had a nickname of Fred, born in Florala, Ala on November 24,1903....What records do you have that he died in Walton Co? I sure would like to check that out and see if it is my line for sure. I am guessing Vernon had a father or grandfather named Fredrick and decided to use the nickname of Fred. I was just wondering if your Fredrick was related to Vernon. He did not tell anyone why he had the nickname of Fred. He just used that name. I am searching in the dark as that is all the info I have on him. Alabama records were not recorded until 1909, as I was told. Thanks for your reply. Do you have any info on his children? (Frederick) My grandfather was Vernon Edward Busby and he went by the name of Fred. He was born in Florala, Alabama on Nov.24,1903 but that is ALL the information I have on him. Joyce
Hi again, The information I gave is exactly what the book says. No township, no telling of going to TN etc The only thing I did not send was: DC 16 Apr. 1960 DC = Dictionary Correspondence. Letters to the editor regarding Scottish emigrants. Located at Scottish Genealogical Society Library Many descendants of emigrants became interested in the work ( the book) and entered into correspondence with the editor, supplying much information not otherwise available. Entries compiled from this source are referenced DC with the date of communication. All letters have been filed for reference Karen ________________________________________________________________ YOU'RE PAYING TOO MUCH FOR THE INTERNET! Juno now offers FREE Internet Access!
