I received the notice on another of the RootsWeb lists and felt it was worth passing on. I sent an email to both addresses. The second one came back as "no such address" so I am assuming that one went through. I've had no response as yet from Keith Weigel. Someone said that the problem was lack of man/woman power to provide the needed assistance. As much as we hate paying for access to records, as more and more of us enter into this addictive hobby, sadly it may come to that. I am also doing research in Scotland where all of the Old Parish Registers are online with access for a fee - not terribly high but reduces the need for a person to be there to help and certainly reduces the crowds at the Register Office. 3. Not sure what it is myself. I do know that Illinois has put most of their public records online (URL posted on homepage under Web Links). Maybe IOWA is going to do the same I hope. Lonna it is good you let us know, hoax or not, this way we can check it out. We already have too many states with closed records which sure makes it hard to do research. 3. For those of you who are doing research for BUSBY's in KY, IN and IL. Please go to http://www.familysearch.com/, and do a search for Mathew BUSBY who was married to Susannah RITCHEY. The name Phineas is noted in several generations, along with Francis Marion. There is some pretty extensive info on this family. I did notice that the first Phineas, born to Mathew and Susannah was actually I. Phineas BUSBY. I wonder if he is the elusive Irving some have been searching for? Also, I forgot to mention in my previous email that my ggrandfather, Daniel Boone BUSBY son of Abram Cade BUSBY and Susannah LEACH traveled to Tulare County, CA with his first cousin, Francis Marion BUSBY. He was the son of the I. Phineas BUSBY mentioned above through his second marriage. He settled in Tulare County and raised a family. Information for Tulare County, CA can be reached at http://www.compuology.com/cagenweb/tularcty.htm. 3. Diana, I have had a heck of a time getting any further back from my ggrandfather James. I know he was back and forth between Kentucky and Indiana. He had SEVERAL children some of which were: Hector, Valentine, John F., Henry Charles, Susan Elizabeth, Amy, Julia, Gabriella, David and Annie or Anne. My family is all gone except for one uncle and a brother. I have not found any other records. I do know that Gabriella (Gabe) married a Rader and Ann married a Moore. Some were born in Indiana and some were born in Kentucky. Apparently they went from Ky to in and then back and then back again. I believe some stayed in Kentucky and the rest stayed in Indiana.
