    1. [BUSBY] Elsie/Elsa/Elcy Busby b.Maryland 1807/08, married & d. in Morrow County, Ohio
    2. Hello, I am new to this list. I am trying to find information on Elsie Busby's parents. I am a Busby descendent. My GG Grandmother was Elsie (Elsa, Alsa, Elcy) Busby. (Three spellings in Census's) (Elcy on tombstone) She was born in Maryland 11 December 1807, died 23 August 1886 in Morrow County, OH. She married Enoch Hart in 1827-28 in what is now Morrow County, Ohio. Earlier, that area was part of Richland and/or Knox Counties. In Enoch Hart's Father's (Benjamin Hart Sr) will (dated 1844) one of Enoch's sisters is shown as married to a Busbee. But at time of Benjamin's death (1855), she was listed as Margaret Mellot I have found nothing in Ohio records about her parents. There was an Edith Busby in Morrow County, OH married to John Harriman. Edith was born Jan 24, 1804 in Pennsylvania and died Feb 13, 1867. John and Edith (Busby) Harriman lived in both Perry Township and Congress Township--the same townships that my Hart families lived. However, they were married in Meigs Co, OH in 1922. Two Busby families in the same area--that early in the area's settlement, could indicate they were related. Any help will be appreciated, Thank you. Bob

    3. Tom' My mother was named Eva Mae Busby she married Lewis D. Harlow. She had two sisters named Lilian Busby Hitt, and Arlene Busby. Eva's father was Robert Lee Busby the three sisters were orphaned or put out as servants. As far as I can tell, my mother worked for the Simms family in Ruckersville, Greene County, Virginia. There may be a tie to Amherst but I haven't found one. I do remember living in Shenandoah, Va., Greene County, and Roanoke, Va. I don't know if there are Kentucky relatives in the Busby line my mother was in.
